I'm only 25 and i had the same problem about a year ago. I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the doctor told him my signs and symptoms, my ekg was normal, and the only thing he did was press on the left side of my sternum(breast bone) and from there he diagnosed me with chostochondritis which is inflammation of the rib joints. It can mimic signs and symptoms of heart attack and very common for women aged 20 to about 35 if i can remember. He just gave me anti-inflammatory meds and i was ok after that. It comes back every once in a while when i get stressed out. But still the best thing you can do is go to the doctor to rule out any heart problems.

Absolutely get to your local ED!! They are the only ones(other than your regular DR) that can tell you for sure what the problem is. I was 26 when I experienced a searing pain in my chest and arm that was enough to cause me to pass out. After numerous tests ( EKG, ECG, 24 hour heart monitor, etc.) the cardiologist determined that it was Pericarditis. The swelling of the lining that surrounds your heart. It is directly stress related and common in females 25-35. It could have just as easily been a full blown heart attack. Do not delay seeking professional help

You appear to be young. if you are the chances of having a heart attack are slim. Stress can cause almost anything. Try moving your arm twist your body take a deep breath. If this changes the pain at all it is not heart related. It could be stress or you pulled a muscle.

Oh my god, go to the emergency room. Do you have any type of heart disease that runs in your family? Any type of chest pain that radiates is a concern for a heart attack.

Depending your age and if there's pain elsewhere it very well could be heartburn or your esophagus not digesting food right. Is there pain in your right arm at all? Is there heart disease in your family? Do you smoke? CHRIS

You need to go to the Emergency room or call your Dr about that type of pain. It could be stress, it could be a hiatal hernia and it could be a heart attack. Call your Dr.
