I realize that what seems petty to one might be a major issue to another, but generally, why is this?

when it comes to people I am generally the least petty person around but when building or fixing or when daily things go wrong (especially lately it seems) I see a great deal of anger in there. This has not always been the case but since about Nov. I have had a difficult situation to deal with and I guess I let it get to me. Generally excess aggitation is a sign of depression.

Things are only petty when they don't affect you. The argument I had with my boss last year is petty now, but then it was almost reason enough to quit.

If an annoyance is really bothering a person, it's often because other things are bothering him that he is either unable to identify, or does not have the freedom to object.

I work in retail and I ask myself this question everyday. Do you know how insanely impatient people can get over purchasing or returning some clothing if they don't get their way. What is seriously wrong with people? I have a lot of patience and I understand that not everyone does have the same tolerances. But still, what is the point in getting so nasty about it, especially when we yell and blame people whose control it is beyond. People are insane and I used to think it's just because everyone on this crazy easy coast is just in such a hurry but I have a feeling it's everywhere.

Main thing is to not let yourself get in this arrogant state of mind and remember, love all serve all. Patience always wins in the end and plus that way people know you're not an asshole.

Look, I spent the day before Christmas fuming over a dessert recipe that bombed. On the other hand when somebody rear ended my car, I just told myself that it was the inevitable and went on without skipping a beat. Why we are so overcome with irritation over the small stuff is definitely one of the mysteries of life. Hope you had a nice Christmas and Have a Happy on New Years. Cheers!

because people are way too uptight and need to step back and look at the big picture. I mean if the barista that makes your latte forgets the whip cream, does it really matter? Hell no but some people have petty annoyances for lack of a more serious problem

We become irritated when we can not satisfy the senses which are usually out of control and therefore bewildering the mind. We need to start a process by which we can control the mind. A controlled mind is our best friend where as an uncontrolled mind is our worst enemy.

Usually when I start getting really upset at the little things, there is something much bigger going wrong with my life - problems at work, or with relationships. When things are good or even ok on the larger scale, the small stuff doesn't even register. I need to find a way to ignore the small stuff at all times, though.

They are usually the last 2% that takes us over the edge and something bigger got us to 98%. On a good day when our fault tolerance is higher the same thing would not be such a big deal.

I DON'T LET PETTY ANNOYANCES IRRITATE ME. Petty annoyances only irritate me if I let it. So don't sweat the petty stuff, it's all petty.
