You can get anti-anxtiety meds and be careful to make sure they do not make you drowsy through over medication. It takes a few weeks to balance the dose to your metabolism age and size but they do work.

Deep breathing, yoga and other relaxation techniques can help and counselling can give you tools to deal with the thought processes that are integral to anxiety. It will also teach you methods to control the anxiety without meds.

As for the job. IF you are willing to relocate to another area you might get a good paying job. Another option is to speak to your former employer. You said you can't get the job back but did you try. The ssri can make one sluggish. Be careful about diet too.

If the anxiety is controlled and you are functioning normally then I would say take the 100k job, prove yourself and change jobs to something that pays much more when you have re-established yourself.

Employers seem to like to 'steal' their best and highest paid employees from other employers. They are less likely to hire into the high paying positions directly from the unemployed. It is a huge financial risk for them. You might make a point of building a network of connections that you can call upon once you are established in the 100k job. They can assist you to move up and on.

However, you have to ensure that you are in control of the anxiety or you will suffer the same fate even at 100k. I wish you HUGE FORTUNES and GOOD LUCK in your pursuits of health and employment!

Well, first, slap yourself in the back of your head for quitting a job that paid THAT much money.

Probably, though, if it paid that much money, it was a VERY complicated job that you simply could not handle.

Now, age 28? Sheesh. You have got a LOOOONGGGG life ahead of you. You will get a lot more jobs in your life.

What to do, right now; go to every employment agency in town and fill out the applications, take the tests, and take any job they offer you; part time OR full time. Keeping working will keep your dignity and your sanity. After a while, someone will like your work and hire you into fulltime again. Especially with your experience and knowledge.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Things happen for a reason, so think of it as God looking after your best interests and moving you entirely in a new direction! Learn to live on less, even if it means moving to a new home/neighborhood and doing without all the high-tech stuff and new car. Money isn't everything!!!!! I'm betting that within a year, you'll be happier without all that stress.

My husband and mine's combined income has NEVER been close to 100K a year and yet we have managed to raise 2 great kids and have everything we need. If you think you can't live without the high income job, then you are spoiled!

Take a break, get rejuvenated, escape to a faraway place and reflect on your life's path.
Take yoga or tai-chi.
Find a girl.
I think you should go to a New Year's Eve party and find a girl. Unwind. Relax.
Like the other guy said, you're young, you're 28.
And hey, I never complained about 100k a year :]
If that's not enough for you, maybe you need to downsize on your lifestyle. Get rid of excess stuff and things that may be causing you stress.
Enjoy the last days of 2006, 'cuz we'll never see it again.

Look at it this way and it is easy.
You were alive before you were born.
You picked a path to take with full knowledge of the life you were
about to enter into.
You were very excited to do this and become this person on earth.
Your goal when you set this up was to help your fellow humans
to love each-other and help others as much as possible.
No matter what happens in your life it is still an exciting adventure
that is good for as long as your body holds out.
You are only 28 your adventure has only begun.

Remember no matter what, you are part of a plan the only way
for you to fail is if you give up or quit.
Someday when your recalling what you have done for the better
of your fellow loved ones you will have great accomplishments of
spiritual love and togetherness as your reward.
Look up Life before Life in Goggle and read and get an understanding of your real goal.
YOU ARE VALUABLE TO US HERE AND NOW!!!

There seems to be unlogical reasons inthings in Life.
Money is not all Happiness. Take time out, reassess what you really want to have in Life, your Dreams and persue that contentment. The monetary value will flow from that given point.

Reading personal development books would be fantastic in a time like this : The Angel Inside by Chris Widener, Wake Up and Dream by Pat Meseti, The On Purpose Person by Kevin McCarthy just to start with a few.

When my husband first took himself off the "management" track, we had to decide how to handle it.

We made a list of all the things that were 'necessary' expenses for us (house payments, food, and a few other things). Then we made a list of the expenses that were 'luxury items' (high end clothes, expensive car, frequent expensive trips). Using this information, we formed a budget that would keep us solvent.

We also formed a list of things that he could substitute for the extra 30 or so hours he had been spending on "work". That list turned out to be very long, and included many things that are absolutely free!

I hope some of this helps. We are much happier now.

Damn I wish I was you! First I'd kick myself in the a-s-s but then I'd be happy about having a job "only" paying $100,000 a year at age 28.

I can't imagine what type of work pays that much money, but you are probalbly bipolar, and hopfully when you made that much money you now have enough to go see a doctory and get on some meds fast.......
