I'm a Christian, and I can't believe how gullible some of these Christians are. You would think they've never read the Words of Christ.

Oh, BTW, have you?

Wef, I looked up that scripture and it has to do not speaking evil of your leaders. However, you missed one very important point. Paul is speaking of RELIGIOUS LEADERS, NOT POLITICAL ONES.

Now, to ask another question...when Clinton was in office, do you speak ill of him? If you did, and then you use this scripture to tell me not to speak evil of Bush, than you are nothing more than an out-and-out HYPOCRITE.

I hope you get this straightened out in your head. Scripture doesn't just apply to me, it applies to you as well; even though you are wrong from the get-go with it because of the misinterpretation.

God bless.

I think the last thing Bush was truly aware of was the load inside his diapers. The next 59 years are pretty much a hazy fog.

As for Satan, he's enjoying his tenure as vice-president. :)

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

All of us have at one time or another been used by Satan seeming as he is the ruler of this world.
Jesus referred to him as being "the ruler of the world"
John 14:30
I shall not speak much with you anymore. for the ruler of the world is coming and he has no hold on me

He reacted, and then it became a mistake. Maybe pride is a problem for him to admit that we should pull out now, but I don't believe he is a tool for evil.

If by Satan you mean neocons and the fundamentalist religious right wing of the Republican party, then I don't think he is really aware. I really don't think GWB is aware of very much at all....he looks increasingly confused.

Satan is a mythological creature, like God, or Zeus or Hercules.
