I thought I'd try getting one but now greatly regret it. Im desperate for straight hair and I have layered which makes straightening an even bigger hassle. To get it presentable looking takes five times over with a straightener,no lie, and even with damage protection products its taking its toll. I cant get chemical straightening because Ive been assured by a hair dresser it will make it fall out. Do I have any options?

Try styles that pull your hair away from your face... this will make it less noticeable to you and easier to deal with until it relaxes or grows longer. I had gotten a perm once and freaked out because it was so different. I had always had straight hair and it was too much of a change. I did the stupid thing and got it straightened and my hair did indeed fall out... a lot of it! Just be patient.. and don't worry, I am sure it doesn't look as bad as you think! (looking back now at the pictures of me with curly hair, it was actually pretty cute)

I did the same thing, I got a perm a month ago and I hate it, I dont want this puffy frizzy hair. I have been using a flat iron, but even with using a heat protectant spray, its splitting my ends alot too. I think all you can do it let it grow out, and keep flat ironing in the mean time, but only do it once every 3-4 days, shower with a shower cap, thats what I'm doing & its working out, since I dont really have any other options but let it grow out at this point. Good Luck.

Um... ya went wrong with the perm honie, no one got one of those since the 70´s, my mom was in ém, I saw her old clothes ill just say the 70´s were NOT a pretty time.. OK so you can )if you still have the chemicals in) style it straight most perms will style staight if the chemicals ar still in..since your hair will fall you with a straight perm.. i think you should try to strsighten it out.... or buy a CHI they ARE expencive, but tottally worth it!!!!!
GOOD LUCK

well i would cut my hair. get it short (not super short tho) and get heavy duty conditioners, id advise biolage, you can get it at your regualar hairdresers for about 20 dollars a bottle, but it will be worth it. straighten it. flat iron straightner. if u get the revlon kind (sold at walmart for about 30 dollars )its amazing and it works on wet hair!!!! also make sure its ceramic and dosent get hotter than 325 or it could damage ur hair worse! i personally have long hair and love it and would hate to cut it off but damaged dry hair is as pretty as a frizzy perm itself, so suck it up and try a cute short look! it will seem like your perm is growing out faster! i hope this helps!!!! (btw have u asked other hairdressers about the chemical straightning?? she may just not want to do it. get a few more opinions if u want!)

A PERM CAN BE TAKEN OUT BY GETTING A BOTTLE OF PERM SOLUTION PUT IT ALL OVER YOUR HAIR THEN KEEP COMBING YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT UNTIL THE PERM IS ALL OUT IT PROBALY WON'T TAKE MORE THAN 10 MIN. THEN RINSE THE PERM SOLUTION OUT, TOWELL DRY YOUR HAIR SOME, THEN IN THE BOX THAT THE PERM SOLUTION WAS IN THERE IS ALSO A NEUTRALIZER--PUT THAT ALL OVER YOUR HAIR , COMB IT THRU AND LEAVE IT ON FOR 5 MIN. THE NEUTRALIZER HELPS THE HAIR GO BACK TO NORMAL. THE PERM SOLUTION WILL NOT HURT YOUR HAIR AS LONG AS IT ISN'T LEFT ON BUT 10 MIN OR LESS, THE NEUTRALIZER HAS TO STAY ON FOR 5 MIN-NO MORE TIME THAN THAT, RINSE OUT THE NEUTRALIZER, SHAMPOO, CONDITION --YOU ARE DONE. THIS DOES NOT WORK ON NATURALLY CURLY HAIR--ONLY PERMED. SOME HAIRSTYLIST THINK YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAME SOLUTION ON PERMED HAIR THAT YOU WOULD USE ON NATURALLY CURLY HAIR--AND YOU DON'T. THE STRAIGHTNER THAT YOU HAVE TO USE ON NATURALLY CURLY HAIR IS TOO STRONG FOR MOST HAIR. GOOD LUCK

Sucks about the hair. I know how you feel, but I don't have a perm. I love straight hair. It depends on what kind of hair you have for Japense straightning. If you have thin, brittle, hair- dont use it, use like an iron and an ironing board for someone to help you with.
If you have thick hair- you can probably use it unless otherwise told. Have fun! Hopefully, it will become straight again.

I did the same thing once. I used allot of conditioner and I kept having the perm trimmed off. I used Aussie scrunch spray on it until the perm grew out. I wore it up allot also. Good luck

The cheapest and easiest way is just to go to the store and get an over the counter perm. follow the directions on timing and instead of putting the curlers in just comb (very gently) straight.

Sorry the only thing you can do is let it grow about 4 inches (4 to 6 months) and then get it cut to lower the impact of the curls. You can use an anti-friz curl relaxing shampoo and it won't hurt your hair or its roots because it is temporary. Good luck!

Sorry, but the worst thing in the world is waiting for a bad cut or unwanted perm to grow out.
