Even if God himself came to earth to show us himself there would still be those who would not believe! No matter how much evidence there is it will still come down to faith!

There is no such proof available. The written record, of the highest worth is the Bible. Yet most people try to make it a fairy tail. Yet most people agree that there was a George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Julious Ceasar etc. --and hardly question the history of them.
What is the major reason that can not be put aside--it is the historical record, not the pictures, but what others have written about someone in history. So you have a good question. When people argue that God & Christ Jesus do not & did not exist , then the same could be said about the above persons. We either trust written history or we do not in all proven subjects.
Please note an interesting comment by a noted historian about Chrtist's existence.
*** gt The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived ***
Yet, strangely, some say that Jesus never lived—that he is, in effect, a creation of some first-century men. Answering such skeptics, the respected historian Will Durant argued: “That a few simple men should in one generation have invented so powerful and appealing a personality, so lofty an ethic and so inspiring a vision of human brotherhood, would be a miracle far more incredible than any recorded in the Gospels.”
Many also claim non-existence for God, because no one has ever seen Him. We do not see the wind, gravity, invisible light waves, sound waves-and yet we know they exist.
Please note:
*** gh chap. 6 p. 54 par. 10 The Source of Good News—“God” ***
10 The discoverer of the “law of gravity,” Sir Isaac Newton, was another who was deeply impressed by the evidence of God’s invisible qualities that are to be seen in His creation. The following account relates how Newton testified to his belief in Almighty God:
Newton once had a skilled mechanic make for him a model of the solar system. Balls representing the planets were geared together so as to move realistically in orbit. One day an atheist friend visited Newton. On seeing the model, he operated it, and exclaimed in admiration, “Who made it?” Newton answered, “Nobody!” The atheist replied, “You must think I am a fool! Of course somebody made it, and he is a genius.” Newton then said to his friend, “This thing is but a puny imitation of a much grander system whose laws you know, and I am not able to convince you that this mere toy is without a designer and maker; yet you profess to believe that the great original from which the design is taken has come into being without either designer or maker!”
Many people do not think, that is the problem is it not. ? Thanks for your question.

For haha's sake, if I was born today, and had no memory of nothing, I wouldn't have had the years of parents stuffing religion down my throat.
I could choose to study science, and discover the mechanics. I would realize that the question of life on other planets is far from resolved in the negative, and that there does seem to be evidence pointing to the possibility of simple forms of life elsewhere.
I could study philosophy, and recognize that the only real think I can know is that I exist. I don't actually have real proof of anything but that. I merely act as if that proof exists.
I could study religion and learn that there are multitudes of religions out there; some with malignant as well as benign gods. Looking at that, I might become rather confused as to why they seem to war among themselves trying to prove themselves right and the others evil.
From all of this, I might conclude that philosophy and science seem to provide better answers than religion.
BTW... I'm a practicing Pagan, not opposed to religion.

Religion in general did two things in the distance past. The first was to provide an explanation of the world around a person in the absentence of scientific reason (why does the sun rise and fall, etc). The second part is to set down rules that members of a society can coexist and not tear itsself apart.
If by your question all knowlege was removed from by head, then yes I may believe that some higher power then myself created the world. If however I did retain by scientific background then there would be less of a reason to believe that a god created the world.

I guess it has to do with being able to support life forms, which i reckon is to do with is there any water on that planet and temperature, as we are a certain distance from the sun the temp of our planet is just right. Other planets are either too cold or too hot to support life forms. maybe millions and millions of years ago when Mars was at the same distance as we are now that it may of supported some sort of life as there is evidence of water there. If god made the earth then who made the other planets? and why if god made them are there no life forms on those too?

i do not require proof that god does not exist to be an atheist. I require proof that he DOES exist to change my belief.
As for looking at the Earth, yes I might believe that a special power created these things...until I started reading and learning and understanding the laws of nature and how things work. Then I do not need God anymore, I know the REAL answers.

Well that's the thing see, you can't be born today as an adult. You have to grow and evolve from a newborn.
As for why is our planet the only one like our planet? It might be and it might not. We are in one galaxy of millions of galaxys, with millions of solar systems in those galaxys. We've only begun to see the universe let alone other planets, how could you possibly know what's out there or not? Hell we barely even know our own solar system.

Other planets haven't started forming life because they are not suitable for life. The atmosphere isn't right to breed life, the location is too close to the sun to survive, or too far away. Life, especially as advanced as our planet, is not a simple thing. Life is a very fine-tuned thing. It just doesn't "happen"

I'm Christian and my husband is atheist and we have a remarkable relationship. (Just for info).
I am a hospice nurse and have seen way too much NOT to believe that there is a God and a life hereafter. I couldn't go on if I didn't have the Lord to talk to in prayer. He is my peace. However, my husband sees things from a scientific point of view and doesn't believe anything that can't be scientifically proven.
Therefore, my conclusion is that people are going to believe what they believe for the reasons that they choose to do so. If you want to know if there is a God, my suggestion is to truly seek Him and pour your heart out to Him. You will find Him if you want to.

It is logically impossible to prove a negative. Even if you know your pockets are empty, I can reasonably argue there is a coin in them, and you can't disprove the coin, because I can reasonably argue that by whatever method you used to determine it, you did it wrong or otherwise missed the coin. Because of this, the burden of proof is always on the party making the positive assertion. Hence, if I claim there is a coin in your pocket, it is incumbent upon me to prove it. For those who assert the existence of a deity, it is incumbent upon them to back up this assertion with verifiable facts. It is not the job of atheists (of which I do not count myself a member) to disprove your God, as they are merely denying your positive claim. In an ironic twist, this also means that in the absence of theists, there are no atheists.

You can neither prove, nor disprove, God by his very nature. I believe in God, but I believe in science, too.
As for Jesus, there is no mentioning of him on a contemporary level beyond the Bible. I do believe he lived (I deny his divinity, though) because it seems unlikely that a religion centered around him could have sprung up as quickly as it did. The rise of Christianity has been documented.
