I ate one when I was a little child. I also ate cat food. I was a holy terror.I didn't die.

When I was about 8 years old (50 years ago), some college guys and others, thought it was cool to swallow goldfish and see who could swallow the most goldfish. I never heard of anybody suffering any harm from this although I think it is foolish. Lot better to do than seeing how much alcohol or drugs a person can consume in a certain time. People, doing something foolish or stupid to be considered cool is not the way to go. Getting the highest marks on your report card or on your job performance is the way to be cool as this causes no harm and has positive side effects.

It depends on the type of goldfish you ment. The type in Petsmart or the type in food stores. I wouldnt recomend eating the kind in Petsmart or in petstores. Eww that would taste nasty. But if you meant the kind that you buy in a food stores that can come in rainbow colors, then yes they are edible.

I'm sure they can be eaten; anything can be eaten - bugs, worms, snakes... A goldfish is still afterall a fish. People can eat pets too... I am totally against this, but in some places people consume dogs and cats even. However, i don't suppose a gold fish will taste good so i will never ever eat one.

Well, if that one person that said goldfish are in the carp family is right, I wouldn't want to eat one! Seems like it would be alot of work to cook one to just eat it in one bite!

i heard they are baby carp fish so i guess they are edible but why would you want to eat those cute fish well any way hope you had i nice holiday and have a happy New Year

Yes, they are. They aren't the best tasting fish. It was the craze to eat them raw just taken from the fish tank in the 1920's.

Since the bones are too small to remove, ya gotta cook 'em in really hot oil - so the bones will become crunchy.
