I want one like not so high on my ankle but lower than it kinda on my foot/ish hard to explain. Anyway, are they more painful here than say..on your back? since, feet have like little to no fat/texture on them and mostly just bones?

You answered your own questions accurately. Because you have less fat and the bones are closer to the surface, it's definitely worse on your foot, but lesser so on your ankle. I've never had a tattoo on my back, but I hear that when they go over the spine the hurt becomes comparable to a tattoo on the ankle.

oh yes it hurts like hell........ I have an alicorn on the inside of my left ankle, and oh my god it hurt so bad I could barely take it, there is very thin skin right over the ankle bone and I swear it felt like a jackhammer drilling through the bone. Better to get it where there's some fat and muscle underneath instead of thin skin over bare bone. I have another on my arm and even though it wasn't exactly pleasant, it was no where near as painful as the ankle.
(alicorn is a unicorn with wings...... I was in so much pain I almost said forget the damn wings!)

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

Mine didn't hurt but everyone has a different pain tolerance. The lady who did my ankle tattoo told me the the most painful ones are the ones that run across your spine because the nerves are close to the surface.

I think you pretty much answered your own question....I don't have any tatts on my ankles or feet but I would imagine because of being so close to the bone that they would hurt more than some places but a tattoo is going to hurt no matter where you put it so go for it!

It all depends on your pain tolerance. If you've ever had a tattoo before, think of how it felt when you got it done, and just picture it with less cushioning. If you've never had one done, I suggest you ask someone who has one with a LOW pain tolerance. If they can handle it, so can you.
Also, I have one directly on my hip bone, and I'm very little (there was no cushioning). I'm going to be honest, it hurt. However, it only hurt when it was done. Just remember, the pain is only temporary, and if the tattoo is worth it, then just go for it.

I have one on the front part of my ankle that goes down onto my foot. I love it........not many people have them there.

It didn't hurt, I just got a little light headed as they finished the out line. I had a glass of water and was fine after that.

I would do it again, if I had too......actually I need to get mine re-colored. It's 10 years old.

I have one around my ankle and one on top of my foot. The one on my ankle hurt alot more that my foot. You should be fine. A tattoo is gonna hurt where ever you put it.

There are parts of our bodies which are more sensitive than others. My sister has 4 tatoos, she says the one on the ankle was the most painful, because the skin there is thinner. Good luck with your tatoo!

your foot/ankle is painful because the bone is right there. your back would be less painful. my friend got one on here back in between her shoulder blades and one on her ankle she said her ankle was far worse. also your foot has a lot of tendons and nerves.
