Advantage or Front line. You would get this from your vet. You will be pleasantly surprised how fast it works. My cats are indoor cats and never been out. Well one year my cats got infested with fleas. OMG it was awful. Went to the vet got the Front line and within a day no more fleas. It was a God send and to my amazement the cats have never been infested again.

First let me tell you that I own a pest control company and what I will recommend is the complete treatment that should help you completely get rid of the fleas.

First, treat the cat with Capstar. This is a pill that will kill all of the fleas that get on the cat for the first 24 hours. Second, use either Frontline or Advantage. Frontline can be used on kittens 12 weeks old or older. Advantage can be used on kittens as young as 6 weeks.

Once the cat has been treated, you must treat your home and yard. The best products to do this would include not only a killing agent, but also a sterilization agent. Inside, I would use Ultracide, if you can get it. (Many on line sites sell it.) Wash all cat's bedding and vacuum frequently. DO NOT STEAM CLEAN YOUR RUGS! This can hatch flea eggs and make your problem worse.

Outside I would use Demon WP mixed with Gentrol or Nylar. Treat the entire yard, paying special attention to under bushes and low hanging branches.

Treating your house and yard is just as important as treating the cat! Even if the pet is an indoor animal, you travel from the inside to the outside and back again. Without treating the outside, you will continue to re-infest your home.

It is also very important to stay away from the grocery store or box store products like Zodiac or Hartz. Many of these products can cause severe allergic reactions in animals.

Advantage or Frontline are great. They will kill the fleas on your cat and repel them for a month, once you get rid of the fleas, just treat him about every 90 days. You will also need to spray your carpet and upholstery then spray again in 2 weeks. Try this website for your flea stuff, it's the same as the vet, just at a wholesale price. www.entirelypets.com

As an afterthought, it's also a good idea to have your kitty treated for worms too, since the tapeworm comes from the animal ingesting fleas or larvae. Ask your vet for Drontal. Kitty takes one pill today, then one two weeks from then.

Go to your vet and ask for his brand of flea control. Mine uses Front Line. This will eliminate any fleas you have now. As far as having them not return, this is almost impossible. Although it is an indoor cat, fleas are in the ground. You, or anyone, can bring them in on your shoes, plants, etc. Just keep an eye out next year.

Revolution is the best flea medicine in my opinion---you can get it from your vet and it's actually reasonably priced. Once your cats on that, the fleas won't be able to stay on him. They may try you next though. Depending on the level of flea infestation in your house, you can use a spray or a flea bomb. On the latter, I would call in the professionals. It's a big hassle.

Frontline or some sort of feline flea treatment you get from the vet. Also, I feed my cats garlic in their canned food. Not a lot, mind you, just a dash of minced garlic once a day. It gives them awful gas for an hour or so, but it helps keep the fleas away during those seasons (fall) where sometimes frontline isn't enough!

take the cat to the groomer and get him flea dipped. while he's at the groomers go to the grocery store and buy flea foggers. alot. i mean at least 1 for a small room, 2 on the stairs, 2 in the living room. while that's doing it's job, go have lunch, pick up your cat, and go home. make sure that once he's been defleaed that you take him the to the vet and they will give you flea medication to keep the fleas off for good. that's what i did and it worked out just fine.

fleas have been horrible this year. coming from both a groomer's standpoint and a cat owner's the pests are hard to get rid of and harder to keep them gone. my cats are all indoors too and the best thing i've found is advantage from the vet. if the infestation is from long term exposure, you'll need to treat the house and yard too

first off, get your cat on something like frontline (my fav). secondly, unless you really have issues with pesticides, get the duo of fog and spray raid that comes in a purple can/package. plan to take your cat to the groomers for a flea dip and bath while you bomb your house. either before you bomb or after, take the spray can and spray everywhere, especially hard to reach spots and places you wouldn't think fleas could live (such as hardwood floors, tile, in bedding, under couch cushions). vacuum and air out your house, pick up your cat, and enjoy a flealess existence. this is the method i used when my dog got fleas, and he hasn't had them for over 10 years. need i say more?
