TWO hospital gowns actually. One forward and one backwards for better coverage while I was up and walking. And some slippers with grips so I didn't wipe out on the lino.

I/LL go with the concensus of the other answers. I wore a hospital gown and a pair of "footies" There is one thing that I believe all the ladies that have answered your question would add there is no room for modesty. You could care less. Just so long as they are comfortable. You can buy colored fancy hospital gowns in some of your better clothing stores. Why bother? You can primp after the baby is born. Best wishes.

I wore the hospital gown I was given, but that was just about too warm! I got so hot under the lamps they had on and just the sheer work of giving birth left me sweating and wishing I weren't so blasted modest.

I believe that anybody admitted into the hospital overnight for labor or surgery is given a hospital gown to wear.

I wore the hospital gown, but I would not have cared if I was naked.

A hospital gown, but it really didn't matter, as it only covered the top half anyway!

Just wear the hospital gown. You won't want to get your own gowns yucky.

Believe me, when you are in labor, you really won't care! They'll give you a hospital gown and you won't care if it's on forward, backward, inside out or upside down.
