ive believed, ever since i was young, that Creationism and evolution CAN corespond if scientists would try hard enough.

the theory is simple. God makes/is the big bang technically creating the world and universe. in the "seven days" which can basically be any sort of time period, the earth is created, inhabitted and humans have evolved.

any other ideas, theories etc that could add or subtract from this are appreciated.

Ok, so some people believe God did it. I don't see WHY they think that... some strange need to have ALL the answers RIGHT NOW... the god of the gaps was never too appealing to me. You're gunna have to kick him out one day when we discover more than we know now.

The Big Bang theory is not Evolution. They are separate.

Repost:

Understand this core thing about Evolution: Complication arises FROM simplicity.

God is a complicated being that's supposed to have always just been there. That is the opposite of Evolution.

And just because we don't know everything doesn't mean a god has to fill in the gaps.

We don't need to say a god CREATED Evolution which pretty much destroys the whole concept of Evolution in the first place.

Evolution is science. Creationism is not. They should remain separate. That's the problem - mingling them together.

The seven days is easy to explain. Moses wrote the book of genesis. Moses was not alive for the events of the book of genesis. Moses was told about the events of the book of genesis by God. This happened in the 40 days up mount sinai (was it 40, I forget). The trickiest bit of that is explaining how to create a universe. That took six days. After all that studying they had a rest for a day and then got on with the rest of the story.

Evolution says nothing of God's existence or non-existence. The big bang theory only goes back to Planck time. There's room for God, but that's about personal belief, not science.

Probably because the story of Creation sounds nothing like the Big Bang and evolution.

That's the 'god of the gaps' theory. If we know a how, you push god back further and say he caused that. And if we find a way for the big bang to have happened, you push god back even further.

Believe what you want. Just don't call it science or try to get it taught as science, and we'll get along fine.

They can, but it is inconsistent with the Bible's stories. So then you have to say that the Bible isn't divine. That leaves you with no evidence for Christianity because Jesus certainly didn't tell us that Genesis was wrong.

I think that it is compatible with a deist approach, because I don't see any evidence either way. I take that to mean there isn't a god. It is only reasonable to believe in things you have evidence for.

Yes, they can. God as the creator. Evolution is the process of life. Where is the conflict?

Even Einstein believed the universe must have a creator.

Two reasons. First, if God in fact, created the universe and all living things, why did He lie about it? Why didn't He tell us that we were descended from the lower animals? Did He think that we couldn't handle it?

And secondly, why would anyone believe in evolution, other than to try to explain our origin without God? There is no evidence for evolution. It violates known and observed scientific laws. And, it is preposterous.
