Be apart from the world, dont fall into worldly pleasures and get trapped into the lifestyle of the wicked. We are to be apart from the world. I have a problem with not being able to tell who is a christian and who isnt. Christs followers should not look like or act like lost people.

To be conformed means act like - acting according to the rules...
So God is saying NOT to conform to the worldly ways. It doesn't take much to notice that the worlds views on many things have become more and more wicked, and will continue until the end of time. As a society we have accepted everything, and try to sell everything with sex, drugs and violence. The Bible warns us against all of this, and tell us to Flee from it! Keep you heart and mind pure of all of the garbage in the world, and conform to Godly ways.

Paul warned Christians. "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world" that are usually selfish and often corrupting. Wise christians decide that much worldly behavior is off-limits for them. Our refusal to conform to this world's values, however, must go even deeper than just behavior and customs; it must be firmly planted in our mind: "Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." It is possible to avoid most worldly customs and still be proud, covetous, selfish, stubborn, and arrogant. Only when the Holy Spirit renews, re-educated, and redirects our mind are we truly transformed.

If you conform your beliefs from the world and not Spirit, then you are in error as to what the truth is and what it is doing for mankind. It is kind of like putting your car in park on I-95 and wondering why you are getting nowhere.

That verse means to live according to the will of God, not the will of the world. Not to worship the creation more than the Creator!

cross over to 1 pet 1:14 the desires you formerly had. before being baptized you did the things displeasing to god.the world wants you to be like them not to be different. but god only accepts holy ones into his kingdom

don't put wordly pleasures ahead of god. god should be first in your life. don't be so cought up in earthly things, which may distract or weaken your faith in god.
