just want to know im 17 and can wait another minute for me and my mom to get matching tattoos.

I don't know about WI but if you consider Illinois, that is prohibited. Parents cannot sign for minors for tattooing.

Amy below you are absolutely wrong, even when it was 21 before January 1, 2006, there was NO parental consent BY LAW. Just because shops did it, did NOT make it legal.

Think about that logically - at 18 in the eyes of the law, you are an adult, therefore parents cannot get into your medical records, etc., nor can they sign for you for anything. If that were the case, they should be able to sign off for the purchase of liquor.

no, they just dropped the age from 21 to 18. When you were under 21 before the new law, you could get parental consent, but now that it has changed to 18, you have to be 18 regardless of parental consent.

I'm pretty sure they can if you're close to Minnesota, because I see a lot of highschool aged kids running around with tattoos, and I'm pretty sure they're not all over 18.

they can in michigan. parents can consent for minors as young as 14.
