John 11 : 51 - 53 states : He did not say this on his own, but since he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation, and not only for the nation, buit also to gather into one of the dispersed children of God. So from that day on they planned to kill him.

Do you realize what this says? The high preist knew what Jesus' death would bring and ordered it - for the result. Do you agree that this is a piece of the larger plan? That it all served a higher purpose? If you do not see that, you must be blind. See how it all fits in? How Everything has it's place? Thoughts and opinions.

The high priest said " It is expedient for one to die" . He knew exactly what was going on. This doesn't absolve anyone though nor does it make it a new discovery. Can you explain what exactly you are so excited about?

I have always been fascinated by the fact that even though Caiaphas prophesied accurately, he still did not recognize that Jesus was and is the promised Messiah. to me it says that God can make Himself heard by people, that He ca use people to speak for Him but that does not necessarily mean that these people know God. The High Priest prophesied accurately but did not understand the prophecy.

But of course God the Father had a plan God can work out His purposes through people who choose their own desires over His.

Also, God does not see into the future. He is outside of time. He knows what will happen because He is already there. He is eternal, outside of time and in all time, at the same time.

it must feel nice going through life with such security in a story.
Open your eyes and look around you? What larger plan do you see? What is this higher purpose? How does what fill in?? Lofty words and an empty railing cry. But all that matters is you believe it and that gets you through the day.

Absolutely I do, it means that God is Soveriegn. His will is fulfilled - He knows the end from the beginning and He is never taken by suprise. Does this negate man's free will, absolutely not! Does this mean that we are "predestined" and have no options on whether to be saved or not - those who are saved are the ones who are "predestined" to be saved and those who are not - do not have a grace to stand on - hogwash theology - hyper calvinism! Bah Humbug of a theology that makes God's soveriegnty such!

God's ways are higher than our ways and his ways are past finding out, we cannot fathom them unless he chose to reveal them to us. God's grace is poured out to all who would recieve it freely.

everything that happens has purpose, the majority of jews rejecting Jesus as the messiah enabled the rest of the gentile world to be saved> "the first (Jews) shall be last and the last (gentiles" shall be first, etc. "

Yes, you are right. What about when the Sanhedren were yelling, "Let His blood be on us and on our children".....another prophecy which will one day be fulfilled? I think so.

Lots of stuff in that book. None of it makes any difference unless you believe it.
