If you add up all of the dates in the Bible, then you get about 6,000 years old. Check out Kent Hovind on google video.

No body knows the age of the earth. When scientist throw out those figures in the millions and billions, they are guessing. Just look at some older science books, and you'll see how the numbers change.

I am sure it is older than 6 thousand years, but probably not too much older. But, I wasn't there, so I can't do any better than that.

4.6 billion.

Carbon dating could not possibly date the age of the earth, other radiometric dating is used for such ancient ages - uranium lead would do the trick. Anyone who says they "haven't seen" evidence has been too damned lazy to look.

If the earth is 6,000 years old, no problem to prove it. Take three separate radiometric dating methods, measure the results at three separate and anonymous laboratories (ie, they don't know who else is doing the testing), and compare results. When the results from all three come back with an answer of 6,000 years, you know you're in business.

There may be no way of determining the exact age of the earth, but it is definitely closer to being 4.5 billion years old.

Be aware that day 1,2,and 3 of creation may be significantly more than 24 hours in duration. Scriptures say a period of darkness and a period of light is a day; but the sun, moon, and stars were not created until day 4 of creation. Thus the 'Ice Age' may by creation definition may be less than 3 days; but by a 24 hour period day may have been (potentially) a few billion years long.

I have yet to see anything that has been carbon dated to prove that the earth is billions of years old. It is as old as it is and it doesn't really make a difference one way or another. The only thing that matters is that God created it, not some massive boom!

. The fact is, though, that the Bible nowhere states how old the earth is. It was a misunderstanding on the part of those religionists that caused the problem....in the 18th century a deepening understanding of the makeup of the earth made it clear that our planet was very old. At that time, many religionists insisted that, according to the Bible, the earth was only 6,000 years old....From start of Flood

To Arpachshad’s birth (Gen. 11:10) 2 years

To birth of Shelah (11:12) 35 “

To birth of Eber (11:14) 30 “

To birth of Peleg (11:26) 34 “

To birth of Reu (11:18) 30 “

To birth of Serug (11:20) 32 “

To birth of Nahor (11:22) 30 “

To birth of Terah (11:24) 29 “

To death of Terah in Haran, and
Abram’s departure to Canaan
at age of 75 (11:32; 12:4) 205 “

Total 427 years

25 Adding these 427 years to the year 1943 B.C.E. dates the beginning of the Deluge at 2370 B.C.E., 4,337 years ago.

6,000 YEARS FROM ADAM’S CREATION

26 In a similar manner it is only necessary to add up the following years involving ten pre-Flood generations to get the date of Adam’s creation, namely:

From Adam’s creation

To birth of Seth (Gen. 5:3) 130 years

To birth of Enosh (5:6) 105 “

To birth of Kenan (5:9) 90 “

To birth of Mahalalel (5:12) 70 “

To birth of Jared (5:15) 65 “

To birth of Enoch (5:18) 162 “

To birth of Methuselah (5:21) 65 “

To birth of Lamech (5:25) 187 “

To birth of Noah (5:28, 29) 182 “

To beginning of Flood (7:6) 600 “

Total 1,656 years...............................................................Adding this figure 1,656 to 2,370 is.............1975......plus time from 1975 down to our day is............? do the math

4.5 billion, according to uranium dating. 6,000 years ago, the Sumarians were inventing glue and the Egyptians were building pyramids.
