Baby oil is mineral oil with a scent. Mineral oil is a byproduct from the oil refinery - where they turn crude oil into fuel.
It is inherently bad for you to use such a product. More and more companies are advertising that they use "no petroleum ingredients" in their products. On the molecular level, the mineral oil's molecules are too large to be absorbed into the skin or the hair shaft. Therefore they simply rest upon the skin or hair. What happens next is that the skin or hair underneath literally suffocates, it cannot breathe. Not that hair is living, mind you, but skin is. So, people in an effort to moisturize more, slather on more of these products that contain mineral oil.
The problem is that eventually your skin (or hair) will become very dry, because it is dying, flaking off. This is not a good thing!
Mineral oil is simply one of the worst things you can use on any part of your body - hair or otherwise.
There are oils made specifically for hair - any drugstore, supermarket, beauty supply store carries them. These are made for your hair, these are what you need.
Good luck and happy new year.

Baby oil is used alot- removing makeup, moisturizing skin. I've never used it on hair though, baby powder yes to soak up grease. Usually anything with "baby" in it is safe. You can use a little to make your hair shiny.
The answer above seems to sound right, when the oil in it seperates from the water in the shower it makes it frustrating to get out. I've heard of the mayo thing, tat would be better becasue it is more like cream. I also reccomend Neutrogena's hair masque, pretty concentrated moisture so use a little less than you would usually for conditioner, and maybe twice a week.
plus it smells good...
A less greasy way to get shiny hair would be the Garnier fructis "surf hair" formula. It's in a squirt bottle, I first found it when it was reccomended to me, and my sister likes it too.

I do use baby oil after the shower , when my hair is still damp and it does help in taming the frizz I also tried garnier fructis and did not like the result, my hair became frizzier than ever, the texture of my hair is coarse and the baby oil helped in making it softer and manageable, hope this help, good luck.

Baby oil is the worst thing that you could ever put in your hair!
I have done it before and it dosnt matter how many times you wash your hair, your hair will be oily! If you want some shine and soft hair then wash your hair with mayo. Yes it will stink after the 1st time but then you wash it with shampoo.
After so many washes with the baby oil you will end up stripping your natural oils from your hair.
Stay away from the baby oil and stick with Mayo or honey and water.

No! baby oil is not for hair,it will make a hot mess out of your hair. Use products that put moisture back in the hair, not oil.

Baby oil is not used to put directly on the skin or hair. You have to put it with water to make sure that its not to glossy or greasy. But do it after the soap because the soap will wash it away. And make sure you don't slip in the tub. And clean the tub afterwards it makes greasy residue..S Pink oil mosturizer is a better recommendation.

unless you have severe dandruff, I would not use baby oil in your hair.... you get a very greasy not so clean look. If you want to use it for fly aways only use a VERY small amount at the very ends of hair after straightening with your dryer... good luck!

euww thats sick...that is horrible for your hair and it won't do ****. Use extra virgin olive oil inseat it is ful of anitoxidents. Use it as a soak before your shampoo or just put in a dab when its damp to help friz and dryness.
