For the same reason that you make a mockery out of an answer that is too honest to your question. Its the true belief in ones teachings, morals and standards.

It all depends on the mood and context of the question. Sometimes it is fine being honest, sometimes it may seem like a mockery towards the receiver.

I ask questions like that sometimes, so no. Sometimes, someone needs to just come out and say it. But sometimes, just in case, I let people know that I'm not just joking around so they'll know I'm being honest and not sarcastic.

Some people equate "honesty" with "plain rudeness".
If your definition of "honesty" means demeaning those who honestly disagree with you, or making fun of sincerely held beliefs, then yes, I consider that mockery.
Too many people say hurtful things and blame the others for being offended with the "I'm just Keeping it Real.." defense.

Anything that questions the Christian Church is considered blasphemy and you are supposed to be burned at the stake. Praise the all-loving God!

I like honest questions.
They make you think before you answer.
Do you like honest answers, or, "you can't handle the truth."

Honesty is not what religion is about, it is about faith in ignorant arrogance. Honesty will not get you into heaven, Blindly following will.
