How do you go about getting a title for a salvage automobile, when you lose the original and the vin number comes up invalid everytime you run it at the DMV.

That can only be done through the DMV.
Try going there and asking them for advice.

you may have to make an appointment with the DMV and have them verify the vin# there and then you can go ahead and get a duplicate title for it with the documents that they sign verifying the vin.explain to them about being salvage

If the VIN come up invalid, the vehicle doesn't exist. So you don't.
