the first thing you want to do is be there for that person. don't correct them on what they are eating. i use to have an eating problem and then realized with other peoples help that its really not healthy to not eat. you can loose your hair your body gets deprived of all nutrients which can make you very sick. just calmly explain to them that having an eating disorder is not healthy and it can make them very sick. if they are at the point to where they don't care how they look then you need to take that person to a doctor or tell someone about them.

Take it seriously. Ideally, get them professional help, but if this is not possible, just be there for them and try to encourage healthy eating habits without being pushy or judgmental. If the problem becomes severe, then you must intervene by getting help from a professional, even against the person's will because they can die without help.
