Aren't god and Allah the same entity?
Abraham was the father of Isaiah AND Ishmael. Isaiah is the father of the Hebrews and christians, while Ishmael is the father of the muslim religion. both are sons of abraham, who believed in god/allah/yaweh.
agreed? why or why not?

For those that say that allah is hateful, therefore making them both different, i must say: are there not scriptures in the bible that tell you to kill non-believers? i personally believe those to be false prophecy, but however you look at it, both books have that same thing.

Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac (or Isaiah, as it may be the same?). Isaac/Isaiah became the father of the Jews/Israelites/Hebrews, and Ishmael became the father of the Arabs -- NOT of the Muslims necessarily. Not ALL Arabs are Muslims, and not ALL Muslims are Arabs.
If anyone disagrees, it's all about what your preferred religion teaches you, even if others think your religion is wrong.

A Muslim friend of mine says that the Hebrews are fathered by Issac and are cousins of the Arabs. They say the Arabs and the Christians are fathered by Ishmael, and they are brothers. I need to get into this a little deeper, tho------to find out why this breakdown. I had always heard it as you just said.
G-d and Allah are the same. Allah is the Arabic word for G-d. And, in the Arab Christian Bible, he is referred to as Allah, as well as in the Qur'an.

I am shocked at the insulting language of some of the answerers. And typically, they are incoherent. Theologically you are correct. All of them are speaking of the God of Abraham. Of course they differ in their interpretation of what this means , but all of mainstream Christian theology agrees that they pray to the same God.
The sillier folks that deride this by saying Muslims don't recognize the divinity of Christ seem to forget that the Jews don't recognize Jesus' divinity either. In fact, in Jewish traditional thought, Jesus was not a good Jew. At least the Muslims consider Jesus a holy prophet. And not all Christian sects consider Jesus to be God.
Anyway, I find it truly amazing and appalling that someone called you dumb and then went on to make the dumbest comparison I've read here in a while.

at least in theory, Muslims do believe in the same God as Judaism.
but at least the christians who believe in the trinity, do NOT. (though, generally they claim they do)
Gary, a human being more divine than all humans are, or being "the son of god" (more than all are) is idolotry.
jesus was NOT the messiah of judaism, if he HAD been the messiah than neither christianity nor islam would exist.
I say in theory, because I do not think that just as in any other case, when 2 people each say the word "God" they can mean completely, absolutely different things, and I think that SOME of islam does follow the same concept of God as judaism does, some not so much.

Ishmael's mother was an egyptian slave to Abraham and Sarah. And Ishmael was only made because sarah thought she couldnt get a baby so she sent her maid to convieve a baby to Arabaham, but when Isiaiah was birthed by her fiathful mother Sarah, sarah ordered her slave 2 go back 2 egypt and take her son..... And ishmael grew up in egypt.... and worshipped the pharoah and false idols and statues.....
That is why they are not the same...... Ishmael is even said in both the torah and in the bible that.... Ishmael is demonic and a liar and not true heir to the prophet abraham!

No... The One True God who is The God of Abraham has absolutly nothing to do with islam.... Ishmael also is only a part of islam because moohamid took the idea and used the name...Some of the people moohamid "converted" might have been decended from Ishmael...maybe...as for allah that is a figment of moohamids imagination.

Allah is God, the creator of all, master of the day of judgement. He is to be worshipped without partners or associates. It gets kinda technical though because some people worship money, human beings, etc, thus these objects become their God, but their God(s) are not Allah.

Compare the God of the Bible and the Allah of the Quran, and you will find that they are extremely different from each other.
Also, to my knowledge, Islam denies that Jesus is the Son of God, and seeing as how in the Bible, it says that He is, well, it's quite obvious that there are contradictions between the God of the Judeo-Christian faith and the god of the Islamic faith.
The god that Islam preaches seems quite different from the God I serve, so I'll stick with Him and pray that they come to the truth.
God bless you all! :-)
