I got my upper lip (madonna, monroe) pierced. All the piercist said was to put some antiseptic on the front, and salt water inside.

just a few questions i'd like to know

How long will it take to heal?
Will it damage my teeth?
What foods should i avoid while its healing?
When can i change the piercing to another one?

OK girl you do not need to avoid all foods for a week **** you could of eaten right after if you wanted but i would recommend staying away from spicy food because they might sting! lol. it should take at least 1 month to heal and i don't believe those types of piercings normally damage teeth. You will be able to change the jewelry when it is no longer red and you can play with it and move it around without any discomfort.

These sound like questions you should have asked BEFORE the piercing to me. The length of time to heal will depend on the level of infection. 3 to 30 days. Damage to the teeth depends on how much the foreign object protrudes into the mouth. Avoid all foods for a week. Change it whenever it suits you.

It will take more than 3 to 30 days for any piercing to completely heal. It may FEEL healed, but it takes time for a puncture wound to heal. Especially one with a foreign object in it. Below is a link the the recommended aftercare as provided by the Asociation of Professional Piercers.

Healing = upto one month. If not, consult a physician
Damage = none, unless it's a large object applying constant pressure inward.
Foods = Avoid spicy, sticky, crunchy types
(Stick food in mouth with care.)
Change piercing = when it's healed properly.

If you continue to have questions, ask your piercist.
If the infection gets worse...consult your physician.

I don't know about all that stuff, but i've always thought that particular piercing was sexy as hell.
