I have never seen anything besides food that grows mold, are there any other things that do grow it that are not food that you would find around your house?

yeah, just about everything on the planet.
mold grows on your flesh, your shoes, on plants, and in water, on rocks in the form of lichen, on the walls of your fridge, on the walls of your bathtub, just about anywhere and everywhere there is enough moisture, the right temperature, and the right pH of substrate.

just because you don't recognize it as mold, doesn't mean it isn't.

Slime mold grows on wood (tree trunks etc). You can also get molds on your walls inside the house and I believe (not sure about this one) that there are some type of mold that can grow on oil - as in like, crude oil or motor oil.

Some good information on the links below

Leaves grow mold. Leafmold is a common ingredient in compost piles. Houseplants, if left extremely wet, can also get mold in their soil.

Pretty much any organic matter can grow mold, it doesn't matter whether it is edible by humans or not.

Rubber used to grow mold before vulcanization. Erasers and tires would have rotted :)

Almost anything can grow mold...If it can hold moisture in, then it will probably grow mold under certain conditions...For example, carpets, dry-wall, wooden floors, fabrics, etc!

Check my brother in-law's bathroom. Plenty of mould (or something) in there.
