It helps to stabilize the craft. The same physics are applied to certain lifesize aircraft. Have fun with it!!!

If both are giving thrust (both props blowing the same way) then it is to counteract the p-factor, torque, and spiraling slipstream of the other engine. So it is completely normal.

Return it to the store.. it probably is defective. You might have inserted the batteries the wrong way also.
