went to the dentist, the visit was fine but not satisfying. i'v heard different things, that perhaps the gums may be eventually cut to allow the teeth to come through, however the x-ray showed that the teeth were like seconds from emerging from the gums - i'm basically trying to put my mind at ease, all answers welcome- please help!!!!

My kid had a very similar thing happen, although we did not visit the dentist because the Dr. said to not to worry until he was 18 months. If the teeth are there then then will come, and be ready to have them all come in at the same time.

I would think that your pediatrician and dentist would be worried about your child not having teeth. If the dentist thinks it will be any time, the best thing is to give your baby the chew toys or crunchy cookies/ toast. Hopefully, that will help the teeth break thru the gums.

go to charlottemommies.org
you'll get more support there from other mommies.
but if the xrays showed the teeth almost crowning then have you little one chew on hard toys, it breaks the gum to let the teeth threw

My niece did not get her first tooth until she was over a year old. She's 15 now and has beautiful teeth! Don't worry about it too much.
