It's no secret that fresh food is the overall best in nutritional value, however some TV dinners are quite good. You should stick with the better brand names though, otherwise the quality might not be so good. Healthwise, I would say that a TV dinner would be preferable to the unhealthy fast foods.

Well, TV dinners normally do not taste very appitizing, if they have much taste at all. They also aren't very good for you, because they contain perservatives and lots of trans fat and calories. I would try to avoid TV dinners as much as possible and stick to a healthy home cooked meal. They are healthier and taste much yummier! Of course, as with everything, it is OK to slurge every once and a while. Try to limit to once a month, if you are already hooked. If you aren't, you aren't missing much and your makeing a healthier choice. Just pass the frozen food isle, and don't stop. Good Luck, i hope i helped!

They can be a quick fix, but in general you can make a healthier and fresher meal quickly as well. Instead of a frozen dinner, sometimes I will throw a bag of already cut up veggies from the produce section in a skillet with my fav seasoning and a meatless substitute. In no time at all I have a fresh meal!
No preservatives and I know exactly what I put in it.

TV dinners make me laugh.

About 40 years ago, my sister and I were out having a great day with some friends. We called my Mom and asked if we could bring the gang home for dinner. She said sure. When we walked in, the table was covered with the good tablecloth, set with the silver, had two candelabra with lighted candles, olives and stuff in crystal bowls. We took our seats and in came Mom with a tray on which there was a Swanson's Five-Course Frozen Dinner Meal for each of us. I think they were turkey. I know I felt like one.

I haven't had a frozen dinner now in about 20 years. I figure if I'm going to blow my diet, I might as well order out for pizza.

They taste pretty good, in general. Home cooking is definitely healthier and wiser, but T.V. dinners do get you out of a jam sometimes. Eating one once in a while won't kill anyone. Now, living on them is not beneficial to anyone's health. I see them as a sometimes necessay evil that isn't too bad.

I think most of them are full of fat, sodium and/or lots of chemicals we can't pronounce. Either way, they aren't good for you. I'm sure there are a few companies out there that focus on whole food frozen dinners, but most of the major brands are just junk.

I think any of the light (lean cusine or healthy choice) are okay for an occasional alternative to a home cooked healthy meal.

The others are loaded with fat and sodium.

Buy the Lean Cuisine ones; they aren't supposed to be as bad for you. Their broccoli/cheese/potatoes one is really good. :D
