Raw cabbage does the same to me. So I eat lettuce instead. And cabbage has been doing that to me for about 40 years now. The bad thing is that cabbage tasted good.

Fruits and Vegies that suppose to make us healthy may make us sick, simply by the use of pesticides and herbicides used on them and they have not been thoroughly washed off.
Also some imported goods have been grown near or with feacal matter, whether its human or animal...
Wash all fruit and veg before peeling, cutting, prepping or even eating. Rinse thoroughly under running water to wash away dirt and bacteria..

For having flatulence: she might have a sensitivity to the natural sugars that are produced when foods are being digested. It will pass, but recur everytime and after a while it will become uncomfortable. See if she response same to brown onions (switch to red as they have different sugar chains) and milk (reduce lactose intake to minimum)?

No although it might have chemical residues or the wrong organisms on it. Have you eaten cole slaw? I don't of any food that has more nutrients cooked than raw.
