Actually it can be anyone with the ability to spoof their outbound number display. A lot of borderline (not illegal but not the best of scruples) companies do that. They could make it display the White House phone number if they wanted. (or yours).

Its a Simple softare and hardware combination.

I've had that too...it was from a newspaper subscription thingie...and they called on my landline. I'd be pissed if they called me on my cell wasting my minutes...strange how they got that number..but i guess you can get anyone's number if you really wanted to.
