i want to buy some subs, but i want the best brand as far as bass. I plan on getting a (cross over- takes the bass from front speakers and tranfers it to the subs) (if thats what it's called), but i want to know what is the best type of sub to get now for bass?

Alpine Type R and S, Kicker Solo X, Kicker L7 and L5, and my favs JL Audio W7 and JL Audio W6. They all a bit pricey

JL Audio (W# model will do) is one of the best, its US made and it is for SQ (sound quality) Im using 2x 10inches JL subs and i assure you it will make you chill.. if the power of size 10'' sub is ain't enough for you, go for size 12"... And if you got the money to spend, go for ROCKFORD.

Kicker Solar Baric L7 and especially the new 2006 L5 will blow your head off. Definetly best highs and lows, but undoubtly expensive. You pay for what you get.

You definetly can't go wrong with JL Audio subs. Fosgate isn't bad either.

Kicker is like Canon; JBL like Nikon in Camera terms. JBL is better in many subtle way. Money will be well spent

For best sound quality's KICKERS is the best and cheapest. I am using this brand and sounds good even without a amp.

Fosgate or Boston Acoustics if you talkin bout car audio. If not then be a little more specific next time. PA, home audio or what dude.

JBL or BOSE-- both very expensive though, if you want something a little cheaper i'd go for Sony or MTX
