why do people turn to abortion???

i can understand if you were raped or something...but seriously, if you don't want to get pregnant, then use a rubber, get on birth control...that way you can at least say you tried...

and if that fails, why can't you just take the baby and be happy??
you don't need an education, or a million dollars to raise a baby...

There is a time in my life where if a gf got pregnant, an abortion would have been fine by me. These were my younger, college years.

It is my guess that many people have abortions out of fear. Maybe fear out of facing parents. For a college kid, it may be fear of losing their future. Maybe fear of responsibility over another life (that was a huge fear for me, even when I was married and wanted a kid). How about when a person has sex with someone they're not supposed to like a best friend's sister, an ex, a married man, a co-worker, a one nighter at the Marriott, a person of a different race, etc. Sometimes people just make stupid mistakes in the heat of passion or a drunken blur.

I think abortion is mainly a reaction to fear.

Now, at 31 years old with two kids and a third on the way, I know that every baby is a miracle. Since I am stable in life, there really wouldn't be a reason I'd want a woman to have an abortion. Even if I wasn't married and a girlfriend got pregnent, great!! This isn't something I would have said at 21.

What changed? I have more to lose now than I did 10 years ago. A baby would be much more of a hassle to my work schedule then to my college classes that could have been scheduled.

So what changed? Having kids is scary as hell. My brother and I even named the emotions felt when we find out our wife(s) are pregnant "the seven stages of Homer Simpson" (after the Simpsons episode where Homer is going to die and progresses through the stages of accepting death in about 10 seconds). What changed is that I've matured and learned to address fear.

Because they can. Abortion is 100% legal and a woman has the right to choose. Why judge people that have had abortions or the ones that will be getting abortion.

You cannot be for and then against abortion all at the same time. You said if it were rape it would be okay but for no other reason. That just does not sound right to me.
I am for abortion for all reasons. A woman can do what she wants with her body.

1)What if your life were in danger and the doctor said you would die if you carried on with the pregnancy then would you go ahead and die and leave your family/kids behide?
(I wouldn't cause i would be having an abortion)

2)If a woman/girl is raped or too young to have a baby then yes i think abortion is the only option.
3) What if the fetus had something horribly wrong with it and would just be born to suffer a terrible life? (I would abort)
4)If someone knows that they cannot take care of a baby then why make them feel like they have to have a baby?

It is a woman's own buisness and right to have an abortion.
People scream adoption but that is easier said than done. Who wants to carry a pregnancy for 9 months just to give it away? I know i would not be doing that.
Why does it bother anyone if someone has an abortion? Is it affecting you everyday living?

Why don't people focus on people that are here and now getting raped and abused instead of a woman or girl getting an abortion for whatever reason?

I have not ever had an abortion but if any of the above happened to me then yes i would have one done.

I think some people just do not think before they act. I think abortion is to easily accessible. There are so many people in the world who are tring everything possible to have a baby. They would so gladly adopt a baby that is not wanted by their mother. 9 months is such a short time to give happiness to a baby and family. It needs to be more acceptable for a women to give birth to a baby that is being given to a loving family.

i agree with you. I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant, and my boyfriend and I weren't trying to get pregnant but it happened and we stepped up and took responsibility for the child. we're both sticking thru and it's not because we have to, it's because it's the right thing to do! I hate it when people say get an abortion if you don't want it...you can't blame the child for what you did, it's your fault and your responsibility to take care of it. Atleast have enough respect for you and the baby yo put it up for adoption if you don't want it. dont kill it because you don't wanna grow up and be responsible for your actions, whether it's legal in all states, some states, or not legal at all, it shouldn't be an option because people should learn to grow up and stop worrying about themselves all the damn time!!!

A lot of young women get pregnant because they don't feel loved, or because they are trying to be loved. They then feel the need to get rid of the pregnancy, because they are rejected by the people they are seeking love from(father, boyfriend).
