Since you are asking about hiding the kitten, I assume your dad does not like kittens/cats at home...You want to make sure your kitten is safe and happy. The only way to really ensure that is to approach your dad and counter his objections one by one (litter - cleaning once a day eliminate most odor; claws can be trimmed every couple of weeks at the vet for @ $10). If you do not approach your dad, then he may find it when you are not there and remove it from your house himself. If he still says 'no', you need to bring your baby to a no-kill shelter. As desperately as you may want to keep it, it deserves a chance in a home where it can be warmly and openly loved. I know you would want that for your kitten, as well.

If the kitten loves the basement good, but he will eventually need to be with you up in the house.
You must tell your dad about the kitten soon. You can't keep this kitten in a basement forever.
Maybe when you tell your dad that you have taken care of this kitten for so long and will continue to do so, he will respect your wishes and let you keep it.

If your' dad does like kittens at home then you should have no problem. Everyone deserves a pet companion. Tell you'r dad to stay in the basement and out of you'r bedroom where you'll keep the kitten and litter box.

I am assuming if your parents don't know about the kitten, then it has never been to the vet. What are you even feeding it and where is it using the bathroom? A cat is a living thing and needs to be cared for, not "hidden" because you selfishly want it. It's not a toy. Find a no kill shelter and surrender it so it can get the vet care and nutrition it needs to survive. Kittens take alot of work and maturity to take care of. If you really care about the cat, give it up to someone who can take care of it.

If I was your mother, your dad would be the one staying down in the basement.
Try talking to your dad and express your feelings about this kitten, he might just come around...

Do you have a porch? She probable concealed them below the porch, or someplace close to the abode. they're in a lined area. they are no longer the right age to make noise. in case you leave a bowl of water exterior for the mum, she would get used to it, and drink and then bypass lower back to her kittens. this would imply spending a great form of time at your mum"s. If she understands you're following her, she would possibly no longer bypass close to them. purely sit down available. enable her get used to you, and additionally you will the two discover the place she has hidden them, or in some weeks, you could hear their mewing while they're hungry, and as she strategies. desire they're secure.

You really can't hide it for a long time. It will grow up soon and wants to run around. Offer to take on some responsibility around the house in exchange for letting you keep the cat.

Poor kitty all trapped with no one to play with. Won't your dad hear it crying? Smell the litter? See you bring in food etc? Best bet come clean, tell him you saved it from death and giving it away now would only crush you. The longer you hide it, the angrier your dad will be.
My daughter wants a cat...I better check her room and make sure she doesn't already have one! Thanks for the heads up!

I think you should hide it in a safe place, then ask your dad about having a kitten. See what he says....

I was able to keep a kitten hidden in my room for 2 months until I decided I couldn't handle the stress of what if they find out anymore. get a cage and when your out of the room put her/him in a cage with food and water. Don't forget to keep that litter box clean so your parents don't start smelling something funky and start getting suspicous. Well good luck with your kitty cat.
