Checking previous answers, some out of Michigan have heard of it.
I'm living in California, and also served in Florida, Tennessee, & Virginia in the Navy and never ran across "Vernors" in my 42 yrs.

I'm from Ohio and about 40 years ago we all thought Vernors Ginger Ale was the best. Forgot about it and haven't seen it in the stores.

I grew up drinking Vernor's in the summers when I would visit my Aunt in Ohio. I now live in Florida and it is very hard to find and no one know what it is here.

Is it true everyone in Michigan drinks "pop" not "soda" and wears 'tennis shoes" and not "sneakers?"
;)
I love Vernors, but never heard of it until I went to school in Michigan.

No that is not true. Saw some in the store the other day. And I remember drinking some over 20 years ago here in Ohio.

But you are right, it is for the most part a Michigan thing. I can actually buy single bottles at the specialty store in my little downtown of Mora. I know that out of people I talk to, that the ones from Michigan know about it.

I live in CT.....and i have never heard of it. I did a quick search, and i found out it was invented in detroit, so that is probably the reason. However, it seems that people in indiana have heard of it as well, so i am guessing that it is the michigan area, not jus michigan.
