i used to absoulutely hate it when that would happen, but then my best friend made them and i noticed she took them out a bit early so they would be warm & chewy. my advice to you is..

- read the directions on the box to see if it has anything about making your cookies chewy, soft, && warm.

- if it dosent then when you put them in keep looking every 10 mins. to see how they're doin

- & put them in for a little less time it says on the box so they'll come out early and be the way you want them to be

[: good luck with your cookies!!

The trick is use butter not margarine as there is too much oil in margaine. Also the cookie sheets must be cooled between each batch...either use a fresh cookie sheet or rinse it in cold water and wipe dry!! Your cookies will keep their shape wonderfully!!

Make sure you follow the recipe exactly, make sure your oven has accurate temp, and bake off your dough as quickly as possible - don't let it sit and get oxidized/room temp. Don't try to make them too big, and use butter instead of margarine. Do not use sugar substitute. Make sure your leavening agents are FRESH and not old/stale.

once you're putting your dough on a warm cookie sheet, this would make your cookies spread too quickly. try putting the subsequent batches of cookies on parchment paper and sliding them onto the sheet basically beforehand putting interior the oven. yet in a unique thanks to make a less attackable cookie is to apply 0.5 butter and 0.5 good shortening (Crisco). that is the way that my mom has made cookies for years. They nonetheless flavor stunning!

ball the dough before you drop it on the sheet. You can either use an ice cream scoop or roll it in your hand.
