This question repulses me. But, one of the answers above raises a sadly valid point. What is morally acceptable to eat? My biggest problem is that you might think these cats are stray while they are actually a loved and cherished part of someones family. If someone deliberatly harmed my cats I would become very irrational and proceed as if you had done the same thing to my child. If you were bigger than me and I couldn't damage you sufficiently with my bare hands I would not hesitate to produce a weapon and apply the necessary harm to your body. My actions would not be governed by any laws while in this irrational state. I would just have to deal with the law later.

Most every cat hater I've met had never owned a cat in their lives. Those few that did kept the cat outside all of the time so they never really got to know the animal. It's difficult to get to know your dog or cat if it is outdoors most of the time. Cats are pets too and to appreciate them they should be an indoor pet and given the same love you would give a dog.
I would recommend to you and all others who think like you to get a cat of your own. Once you've had one and really let yourself get close to the animal you will most certainly change your mind about them.
I would also recommend that while in the cat's presence you should be continually supervised. Maybe a mandatory mental health evaluation would be a good thing too....
