I am 86 pounds and 5"3, and I am 14 years old, and a girl.
I have some muscle.
I am skinnier than all of my friends, except for one, who is 71 pounds, at 5"4, and sometimes because of her I feel I am never skinny enough.
Am I fat?

My dear, you are no where near fat. In fact you are dangerously underweight. Please see your doctor about what a healthy weight, diet and exercise program would be for you. Your friend who is only 71 pounds is likely near death because of her low weight.

You are about 3 to 4 inches shorter than I am, and a lot lighter than I am. A lot about your weight depends on your bone structure. If you have a heavier set body, than you shouldn't weigh that little at all, a medium build, and that wouldn't be healthy at all. If you have a smaller bone structure, than that should be about a good weight for you. More petite individuals should weigh less than one that is heavier set. Whatever you do, remember, that you are perfect as you are. I would kill for that weight! Many girls around your age would love to be as skinny as you are. So don't even think for a minute that you're fat! Your friend is underweight. No one at 5"4 should weigh 71 lbs, no matter what their bone structure. 71 lbs for a girl that's 5"4 is not healthy. YOU however, are at a healthy weight. If your still concerned about it, find a BMI calculator online, but they are not always accurate. But, you are not overweight at all.

You are underweight. Your friend is scary underweight for her height. Being that skinny is not attractive. Look at Lindsay Lohan, people MADE FUN of her when she got too skinny. Everyone liked her better when she had a shape and actually had boobs. You should not worry about being skinnier than your friend, if anything it would be safe to gain a some depending on where you are in puberty. Visit your doctor. Especially if you haven't started pubery yet, it could cause a lot of problems for you in the future.

NO!! you are not fat, you are too thin and sounds like you might have the beginnings of an eating disorder and poor body image......seriously, you should weight over 100 lbs at 5'3"......get some help!

you're a good weight for your height and age. as you get older, it's even fine to be up to 120lbs. i would imagine that your 71lb friend looks scary skinny, you dont want to look like a toothpick either.

Put it this way, if you keep losing weight, you'll never start your periods and never develop properly into a woman.....but then maybe that is what you want................seriously get some help. Take care : )

please you sound like you are too skinny and if you haven't even gotten your period by now you should see a doctor. you should have it by now. Girls that don't have enough body fat don't get regular periods. Hunny please talk to your parents or someone you trust about this and see a doctor soon
