My nephew has a Viszla, a female named Amber. A neighbor has 2 of Vizla's. Is yours a full-grown adult? What color is yours?

When I think of a tough name, things like Rambo, Hank and Thor come to mind, but normally Vizlas have a sleek look, rather than stocky/chunky.

We have an 80lb lab named Sport, a Shih Tzu: Bailey, and an English Toy Spaniel: Darcey.

We have a cat that thinks she's royalty, so named her Fergie (after Princess Ferguson), a Siamese named Mieko, and an orange tabby named Punkin (a mix of pumpkin for her color, and Punk because of her personality)

Sometimes favorite characters from books, movies are a good way to come up with a name.

I agree with the first answerer, we can give you ideas, but the site will have hundreds if not thousands!

My dog's name is Bear.. suits him, he's huge and stocky to go with.
I always liked the name Zeus too. Good big dog name.
We had friends with a massive rottweiler and they called him Bruno.. another friend with a sheepdog and his name was Boris.

Maybe you need to get to know him a little better... sometimes their personality decides their name and you have little to do with it other than making it so!

I agree that you don't have to name him right away. Live with him for a week or two and I'm sure something will fit.
And, by the way, in the Bible it's spelled Malachi, but it the movie it's spelled Malachai.

Do a web search for dog name ideas. There are dozens of sites that can give you far more choices than we can list here.

Why not live with him for a little while and then name him? You'll get to know him better and the obvious best name will come to you!
