She meows and howls while she is walking, goes downstairs, stays there and howls and comes upstairs and i feel that she is in pain, or like something is going on, but what? i did see that she has been licking herself constantly, but again, dont know if she is in pain.. can someone help me

Your cat can have two possibilities. It can be in heat and is howling because of it, or it can be seriously hurt and can't communicate its pain. It could be howling because of pain that you don't know about. If it's an outside cat, it could have gotten pain while being out. If it's not an outside cat, it could have gotten hurt doing anything indoors. If you're sure that it's not because it's in heat, then I would take it to a veternarian and get a better answer.

Excessive licking is usually a sign of a bigger problem, especially since it's also howling in pain. It could be feline urological syndrome, neuropathy, fleas, etc. How long has this been going on? I'd call the vet and get them in ASAP!

If you think she's in pain, please take her to a vet as quickly as possible. You don't say if she's strictly indoor or goes outside or if there are other animals in the house but one thing she might be trying to heal by licking is another animal's bite. If the bite is left untreated it can abcess and that's very dangerous. If she's not spayed she might be in heat but most cats will present their backsides to you if that's the case.
Sounds like she's hurt. Trust your instincts and get her the medical help she needs. Good luck!

Is she in heat? Or in labor?
My mom took in a stray cat, and she started doing that. I called the vet, she said the cat was in heat. 30 minutes later, I saw her with a kitten! Mama and kitten still live there - 16 years later.

take her to the vet. Yes she may only be in heat but she could also have a bowel obstuction. she could be licking herself to try to stimulate herself to go to the restroom. like mother cats do to their kittens. you do not want to wait long as it does not take long for the waste to do damage.

she is in heat has she been fixed yet?our cat just got over it she howls at night when we want to sleep it cost so much to get her fixed we have not yet but i wish we could she never has been outside,,

more than likely she is in heat...is she fixed? this is a sign that she is in heat however if you notice her leaking a creamy colored fluid as she is licking herself down there she needs to go to the vet ASAP!!! If she isnt fixed and she is leaking creamy colored fluid she could have pyometra very dangerous she will die if left unattended take her immediately

If your cat has ot been de-sexed (spayed) then she is in heat - that's what all the howling and prowling is about.

she may be depressed. has anything traumatic happened in your life aswell. i know its wierd to think of cats getting depressed, but my old cat was depressed when we had to put our siamese down, and all her hair fell out. just make your cat feel secure.
My advice would be to take her to the vet. they will be able to tell if there is anything wrong with her physically.

Well,alot of cats are sassy...they think they rule the world....like when my friends cat thinks that during chrismas,they only bring the chrismas tree in for the him!!
