It isnt really acceptable here to most people. Teen pregnancy rates were climbing rapidly, but have now gone down a tiny bit thanks to safe sex awareness campaigns. There are many programs in the US for teen mothers to help them do the best they can with the means they have. So I guess although looked down upon, we as Americans do not as a whole "turn the other cheek" to it. We make the best of the situation I guess.

It's not socially acceptable. And stop giving Becky thumbs down. Even if her statement wasn't tasteful it's the truth. Society views young moms like stupid sluts who couldn't keep their whore legs closed. It's assumed that if you're under 23 and have a baby (married, in a relationship, engaged, or not) you are on welfare, living in a shack, don't know the "baby daddy", and are a horrible parent. Those same people however are the first ones to scream at you when you get pregnant that if you have an abortion you'll burn in hell for all eternity. You do what they should consider the right thing and you're still a bad parents and probably still going to hell. No matter what you do you're not going to win society's favor.

By acceptable do you mean considered the same as say a 30 year old having a child. No its not; however, it is becoming a social norm. Teens getting pregnant has ALWAYS been a problem. In my grandparents generation teen girls that got pregnant were forced to marry the babies father, in moms generation they were sent off to live with relatives until the baby was born and adopted, my generation abortion was big, and now they are keeping the babies - thats why it seems like its more rapent now and days.

Its not that its accepted, its just that it happens to much. Teen pregnancy is a big issue and most people would like to teach abstinence instead of education about condoms and birth control.

I dont like it, I didnt get pregnant for the first time until 23 (4 days from my 24th b-day I found out I was 5 weeks!)

How can you say that its not acceptable? I was 18 years old and I had my daughter knew who the daddy was. The only time really is if you sleep around and don't know who the daddy is. The only ones who can say if its acceptable or not is that teens parents. Not people on this board.

it's acceptable because back in the day people were 14,15 &16 years old getting married and having children, anything is acceptable but there is consequences children are big responsiblility people are going to be critics regardless you just have to show them that you could be a good mother or father and that you could be better than them, people just need something to talk about because they feel they can control a person and there baby,

People have to accept it but it is a shame when a teenager gets pregnant. That is my opinion.

No, it is not acceptable, but people don't seem to care anymore when it does happen. With day care in high schools and grandparents raising the children..it seems to be less taboo.
