Exercise it more so it sleeps more and isn't bored when it is awake. Exercise both the body and mind (with obediance training, or games). this is the most important thing.
Buy appropriate chewtoys (nylabones, greenies, rawhide, etc)
When you catch your dog chewing on something wrong, say "No!" and then immediately give the dog something better to chew on (a toy).
Spray bitter apple on items your dog is chewing, because it tastes bad.

I bought the little expanding and folding 2' or 3' high fence that you can create a pretty good circle inside the house. I put lots of doggy toys in with the puppy. Plus a small water bowl. I took my puppy out lots of times throughout the day and evening to have play time, meal time, potty time. Because the fence is see through they don't cry and get lonely like if you put them in the bathroom or such. This way he learned what was his and what wasn't his. But most of all durring the teething time he was confined to his own chewing objects only. All dogs need to chew and they will chew whatever is there. So just control the situation in a nice humane way until the puppy is better able to understand what he's supposed to do. By the way a baby play pen works too, but they will eventually chew it too.
My dogs are both 8 years old now and I still have their little puppy fence that I use to put them in when I have company. Then the guests can go over and visit with the dogs without my dogs hopping into their laps like they do with me. They still are part of the visit and they need that too.

It depends on what he's chewing, you have to make sure everyting is up and out of reach. But like my when my beagle was 3 to 4 months old she started chewing the legs of my chairs the baseboards the ends of the coffee table. My vet told me to sprinkle pepper on the spots she chewed. The sniff before they chew the don't like it up there nose and they dont like the taste of it.Hope this works for you. My beagle is 5 months old doesn't chew furinture but she still goes after anything in her reach. Have a happy and safe new years.

Wal Mart sells this stuff called No Chew Spray. I used it with all three of my dogs, and they no longer chew things up. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

Say no when the dog chews stuff and give her something like a rawhide bone to chew on instead. Keep her preoccupied.

Puppies chew. When he is not supervised, keep him in an area of the house that is resistant to chewing, and provide appropriate chew toys.

Just like baby proofing a house....... keep things picked up and out of their reach.... they get bored and need something to do. Provide different types of chew toys.
