Any Ideas? My hair is medium/long and really thick, kinda poofy, and a little wavy in the middle. I can't stand spending too much time on my hair, as I get frustrated easily, so the simpler the better. I've always liked curls, but I can't use a curling iron to save my life! help?

My hair is also layered, and my parents are pretty strict about dying, cutting it too short, etc.

Short hair can be styled in more ways than long hair can, you might consider a shorter layered style, that way the length doesn't drag the style down. You can learn how to use a curling iron, pay a stylist to fix your hair and watch what they are doing. Ask questions. Look at different magazines.

If you're bored with your hair, change it up! Get it colored or chop some of it off! Maybe it would curl better if it was shorter and less heavy. You could have your hairdresser thin it out a bit while she's at it. Or you could try using a flat iron... it's pretty simple... just flatten your hair in sections! Good luck! :)

well, if you like your hair curly, you should use the Herbal Essences Totally Twisted curling mousse. it helps it curl very well, and keeps out the frizz. next, put your hair in a high ponytail. get a big hairclip, and lift up your ponytail so that you can clip it from underneath. when u r done, the hair should hang over the clip. rearrange it so it looks best, and you're done. it sounds a little complicated, but it's really easy.

i have hair similar to ur it is thick but it is totally straight. i usually curl my hair with little curlers. they are a lot easier and they take half the time.

For a lot of curls get the small ones for bigger one get the bigger curls. Just put in all the curlers and then while the curlers are in ur hair spray it with hairspray. take them out in about 5-10 mins. then spray it again.

or if u r comfortable with it braid ur hair and sleep with it in and then in the morning when u take it out it should be pretty wavy if that is what u r looking for.

Hope i helped you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe use a curling shampoo, I've never tried one myself, but others have gotten results. Or Highlight your hair. You can use regular curlers, the ones you roll up into your hair, and sleep with them at night.

try braids, they stay in longer and last long and you could get all types of designs, your name zig-zags etc. or you can use a hot comb and straighten it out then swoop your ponytail and put spike in. black hair is the best hair to have there is so much you can do since i do hair including my own it's fun to experiment. try braids they'll be great and you don't have to worry about doing them for 2weeks max. and it grows your hair faster than ponytails.

if you have a natural wave to your hair, some curl booster may be able to give you the curls that you want. try getting some tapers put in your hair....this may look nice with your waves.
