Like the guy says, it's gravity. It continues to go down steps because there are more steps. It will stop at the bottom. If there were only one step, the Slinky would stop at that point. If you pushed the slinky off of a table, it would only go down that one, Looong step. Unless the table were at the top of some steps, then it might go down some more.

If a Slinky fell from one airplan to the top of another, would it continue to fall onto another?

Would this also work in Austraia? What if the Slinky were pushed off of the moon?
