I don't know why she didn't simply tell you your gums are inflamed. This happens as a result of the bacterial waste products, which contain acids. These acids are what cause inflammation of the gums, or gingivitis, as someone above mentioned. They also cause enamel breakdown, resulting in tooth decay. Redness, discomfort and bleeding are the classic signs of gingivitis. You need to go buy yourself a new, soft toothbrush. run it under warm water and go sit and watch TV while you spend about 15 minutes VERY GENTLY applying the soft brush all over the area where the gums meet the teeth. Use a gentle, circular motion, no toothpaste. Just swallow whatever saliva accumulates, or just spit. This will remove the acidic plaque and your mouth will feel cleaner.. It only takes a day or so for the inflammation to clear up if you do this several times a day.

It's probably gingivitis - it's possible you aren't getting everything when you brush and it's caused gingivities - your gums bleed easily because of it and look red and inflamed. Mouth washes along with brushing can help this to go away.

Either the dentist can't explan it because it sounds rare, She a health doctor or a better dentist. Or maybe gums?

You should have asked your dentist about your gum disease. You need to brush more.

I think she was referring to your gums. If you think that is something else ask her.
