You could look for a dress right now and have it altered so you are motivated to loose the weight, but you body may change after having the baby. Your hips, chest, even waist may change shape. I would suggest getting a dress 4-5 months before the wedding. As long as you only gain the necessary weight needed for the baby, you should have no problem losing a little bit of baby weight.
Look at all these celebrities that are having babies and looking fabulous two months later. I think it was in People magazine where I read and article about why these Celebes are looking so great after having a baby. They were saying the trick is not gaining much weight with the baby. Lots of women make the mistake of over eating while pregnant so by controlling your pregnancy weight gain, you control how fast you lose baby weight.
My doctor informed me that I should be eating about 300-400 more calories a day for the baby. I have been adding those calories with fresh foods, like cheese, veggies/fruits, granola and other healthy options. It's worked so far because I'm still staying somewhat lean and the doctors say I'm right on track with the proper amount of weight gain. Maybe that will work for you.
Good luck to you with your Wedding and new Bundle of Joy!

Look any time you are able to. However, don't think of purchasing and being fit for it until at least six weeks after the birth. That assumes you have the money for a second fitting and alteration, of course.
The thing to remember is you can always lose material but adding it back in usually looks pretty bad. If you do lose enough weight — actually, more likely the important issue will be shifting weight — in the following months, you can cheerfully pay for that second fitting and alteration about six weeks before your wedding. This will also help your feeling of being in control and on top of things in the run up to the wedding, which I assure you will be STRONGLY challenged by everyone involved!

I would look around while you are pregnant. Look in magazines, online and go shopping and get an idea of the style you think you may like. Also, keep in mind that the style you think you like could be the wrong dress all together until you try it on. So, I would go now to stores, try on dresses and get an idea of the kind you like. While you are at the stores ask them how long it takes to order a dress. I had to have mine ordered 6 months prior to the wedding date.
Good luck and congratulations!

Fortunately in my experience, purchasing and altering a wedding gown can be completed in two - three months. I would suggest purchasing your gown in early December 2007 then it will be in by late December and then have it fitted and altered in early January. I would look around in local stores and ask what the turn-around time is for purchasing gowns and having them altered. Also be sure to purchase shoes to go with the gown at least 8 weeks in advance because you need those for the fitting. P.S. Congratulations and good luck!

Don't look for a dress until at least a month after you give birth.
That way your body will be recovered and you will be able to start exercising, and maybe dieting. That's if you are not nursing.
If nursing, it is not recommended to diet, only eat healthier.

Start looking for a dress right now. Change all the plans now that your lifeplan has changed --- get married as soon as possible for the sake of your baby! Just have a small wedding and family dinner and do it soon. Congrats!
