There are several casinos in my area, and I gamble maybe 2-3 times a year, just for fun. Basically I want to go and spend a fun evening, without risking too much cash. What games would you suggest?

Head for the games with the lowest house advantage, and you should end up fine. If you're good at poker, then that's a good place to start because you can just wait for suckers to come and play like suckers and win their chips -- there' no house advantage at all except for the rake.

Blackjack is good if you can learn the basic strategy, that is, the mathematically correct way to play every hand. In that case, the house advantage is only 0.5%, which means that you'll win 49.5% of the hands you play,. and for ever 100 dollars you bet, it will only cost you 50 cents on average to play.

Other great bets are the odds bet in Craps (and just the odds bet -- there are a lot of sucker bets in craps). Bet as much as possible on the odds because that bet has zero house advantage. The house advantage comes from the fact that in odred to bet odds, you have to place a seperate bet on the come/don't come line, pass/don't pass line, or on one of the numbers.

Pai gow poker is a slower-paced game that allows you to play longer because you aren't making as many bets. I move to pai gow poker is black jack just isn't hitting for me. The house advantage is exactly 5%, unless you're banking, in which case, you're the favorite, so bank as often as your funds will allow.

Pai Gow (the actual tile game, not the card game) also has very good odds (better than pai gow poker), but most americans find it too complicated, and few casinos even offer it.

Games to avoid: Roulette, money wheel, war, let it ride, carribean stud, sic bo, or anything that seems really easy.

If you like slot machines, stick to the ones that advertise their payback rate... 95% or higher slots are generally fair bets. The higher denomination machines, like quarter and dollar machines, pay off much better than penny, nickel, or dime slots. For that matter, $5, $10, $100, etc slots do pay back slightly better than the $1 slots, but the additional risk isn't enough to be worth it unless you've got a lot to bet.

Finally, if you set limits and stick to them, and you never bet more than you're willing to lose, you can play whatever you want, however you want, and wind up have fun. That's the key to a good gambling trip.

If I'm in the mood to play without risking too much money then I tend to play Stud Poker. It's great fun, there are sometimes progressive jackpots to be won, and it doesn't have to cost much to play.

If you are not a gambler and you have limited knowledge of the games, don't bet. Good luck
