Hi there...as many others have mentioned, I truly hope that whoever is taking care of your cat has rushed it to the vet and not tried to pull on the nylon twine by now since I'm answering one hour after you've posted. Nylon twine and other string-like substances wraps around the intestinal tract tightens up closing off the bowels and can slice it which is fatal for cats. A veterinarian will need to x-ray and surgically remove the nylon twine. Pulling it can be instant death as the string is wrapped and grasping onto the intestines. I hope your kitty will be alright.

Here's an article by a veterinarian about the string dangers: http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/pet_pourri/85248

My cat did that a year ago. I did the same thing, just snipped it. I kept an eye out, and by the next morning, it was all passed. I know you shouldn't pull it. I know it could be worse than it seems, especially if he ate a whole bunch of string.

Definitely get kitty to the vet. The string may be entwined in his intestine and that can be fatal if not removed. The vet will do an x-ray to find out how much if any damage is done and how far exactly the string is inside the intestinal tract. Don't let kitty suffer or starve himself to death! Get him to the vet ASAP!!!

You did right to snip it and not try to pull any further. You need to take her to the vet because it can loop around and cut of the intestine and she could die a very painful death that way.

If you try pulling on it gently and it still doesn't come out, call the vet to see what the vet says then, if he tells you otherwise, then do what he/she says.
Be careful with the kitty please.
Comfort your cat all you can.
*I don't see how it could wrap around his intestines if it goes through the insides of his intestines but BE CAREFUL!*

Go to the VET NOW - and take your credit card, becuase you may be looking at surgery to get the twine out of his intestines.

poor kitty- hope he feels better after the vet fixes him up

My cat swallowed some twine once and all we did was pull it from his butt. Then he was all better. It also depends on how wide and long it is.
