Was just wondering how many gallons an icecream pale was?

My fiancee works for an ice cream manufacturer. He says they used to be a gallon and a quart. But they recently switched the size to a gallon and a pint. That's the company he works for anyway. Each ice cream company could be different, too.

1 1/4 cuz there are 5 quarts and 4 quarts in a gallon so wahla

55 gallons and it's called an ice cream barrel, not an ice cream pail (see that word? - PAIL). Just thought I'd take this opportunity to make fun of your incorrect spelling of the word pail as opposed to the word pale ... context makes all the difference ... check Webster's!
