Veronese green, Van Dyck's brown, Payne's grey: many artists create their own colour which becomes their unique "signature" ... until they get it manufactured and sold.

Well there are alot of art related fields today, more than there ever was. Start small. Think Crayola. Crayola may have patents on some of their colors. Epson photoinks and stuff like that work on their process and materials, their Cyan/magenta/yellow/etc. I suppose could be regarded as signature. Also film. It's a proper noun. Kodak Signature Color, who knows who else uses the title Signature, it's a boundless area of knowledge. Pretty much limitless.

Hope this helps.

the color that an artist is usually associated with although too many of them use lots and lots of colors so times it would be very hard to determine especially if they have not done lots of work over and extended period of time.
