I am interested in purchasing the Sigarms P226 with the short reset trigger (SRT). I have been told this is the P226 elite but the ones I've seen have wood grips which I don't want. Is the P226 with SRT available for purchase or is it special order?

Seeing how I work for Sigarms in Exeter, NH as an armorer, your answer is you could do it 3 ways 1. you special order the 226 with the short trigger or 2. you get the elite and then order a set of regular grips and change them or 3. you purchase a regular 226 and then have a short trigger installed by Sig's Service Dept. by calling Customer Service (603-772-2302) and getting a work order set up (this will allow you to send gun to them) or you could bring the 226 to any gunsmith to have a short trigger installed or do it yourself (If you know how!!)

He's right and you cant lose with that 226. I have the 220 SAS and its excelent. You can spend less but you get less. Sig also has some great classes in NH, and if you get the chance go! I know they loan handguns to class participants, so you may be able to take a class using the 226 you are interested in.

Don't buy an overpriced tin-can frame pistol. This goes for Sigarms, Beretta, and SW 3rd gen. guns. They are overpriced and annodizing never stays on the frame unless you baby them. Aluminum frames should be for .22 target pistols only anymore. Pick steel or plastic.

the furniture is interchangable. The ones you saw probably had aftermarket grips on them, like Nill grips
