If genetics and environment (things out of our control) don't affect our choices as is the case in Free Will, then why aren't all humans making the same identical choices? Why isn't everyone thinking the same thoughts and making the same decisions that they believe are best for themselves and/or the rest of the world?

And do we get to choose what our individual "quirks and fancies" will be ahead of time?

And why is it that you don't like carrots and someone else doesn't? Do you get to choose what tastes good in your mouth?

Because we are all INDIVIDUALS with our own little quirks and fancies! We are not robots! ROBOTS would all think and do the same thing!
EDIT:
Surely you're kidding!
Remember when you were a kid, and being a fireman, or a pro baseball player (or whatever) was what you wanted to be more than anything? Our fancies change continually, for some, and tend to remain more or less the same for others; especially as we get older. Is that REALLY such a hard concept to grasp?
Yet on a daily basis, we make choices based on our free will. What you had for breakfast this morning; what you decided to wear today, all elements of free choice. (unless somebody dressed you) lol

No two people have the same experiences growing up, hence they're decisions on certain things will most likely be different. As for certain decisions, we tend to make decisions that are best for ourselves and our families first before anything else. This is human nature.

I believe it is because we're all still evolving toward that point. Evolution is not fast, and it is not perfect. There are a lot of false starts. Humans today may not be the perfect being. We have a long way to go before we all make the right choices.

The light entering your eyes, the sound entering your ears, the sensations felt on your skin and the flavors in your mouth are different than the ones I experience at any given moment.

because we are all different individuals who think and act differently and as for your question as to why some people like different foods then other people it's because everybody's taste buds are different and as individuals we all have different preferences in terms of taste touch smell hearing and seeing

Easy, I hate carrots and my wife loves them. I love jalapeño peppers and my wife hates them. No one is the same, and therefore their choices will not be the same. And why should they be?

sorry, I do not follow. If free will did not exist then that would be more accurate.
