Cut way down on junk food... don't cut it out completely or you will not be able to stick to the diet... switch to low fat dairy. Cut way down on carbs (breads, pasta etc.) If you do eat them, have the whole grain kinds. Eat lots of fruit and veggies. If you do decide to stop eating meat, look into something to replace the protein in your diet, because protein is what feeds your muscles. You do not want to lose muscle tone, just fat. Hope this helps.

Keep eating everything in the food pyramid which is - dairy, meat and alternatives, fruits and veggies and grains. Give up the fats group if you're going on a diet, otherwise, your body NEEDS everything else to be healthy enough.

Do not give up fats as a previous poster said. Educate yourself on the healthy fats. They are essential to your body.

Get rid of white flour items such as pasta and bread, white sugar and anything containing transfats.

it is more unhealthy to give up the nutrients that your body needs than it is to eat them. Also, I learned in a health class that if you start depriving your body of something that it is used to getting, you will end up doubling whatever weight you lost from not eating that food. the best thing that you could do is exercise. a little walk or bike ride will help more than trying to quit eating something.

cut out calorie condiments like ketchup and mayo and use mustard instead (it has 0 calories!) I've learned to love it and shaved a LOT of calories off of meals.

Stick with what the food pyramid says. You can also do lots of exercises. But don't over do it.
