My sister rented out a childrens gym for her daughter. Gym Kats or something like that. It had all the trampolines and different things that gymnasts use. I'm taking my daughters to Peter Piper Pizza but that's probably too close to Chuck E. Cheese.

Childrens museums, movie theatres, indoor water parks and such are great ideas. My sons love bowling, so for my sons birthday next month we're doing a party at the bowling alley. For a set price you get 2 hours to bowl, and it includes a drink and pizza. I make his cake, but they offer that too. Good luck!

My daughter had a 5th birthday at a local Science Museum. We had a blast and it was a party her friends still talk about. Call any local museums or zoos and see about having birthday parties there.
You can do a home birthday party but add a theme like Circus Circus and have a clown, magician, animals, carnival games, etc.

My daughter had a gymnastics party at the local YMCA. She was allowed one hour in the party room for cake, presents, etc. Then a gymnastics instructor took the kids into the gymnastics arena and did all kinds of activities with them. It was only $75 and well worth it. She had both boys and girls at her party and I have heard positive feedback from all the parents.

Check out My Gym or PE 101. My 3 kids are 2, 3, and 6. They all three enjoy the climbing walls, parachutes, zip-line, scooters, and games the staff directs. It's so fun!

Do you have any indoor pool places around your area? The kinds with little kid areas with slides and all? I know kids have a blast there and the ones around here don't cost much to throw a birthday party. It's hard to think of anything at his age and at this colder time of year.

How about a hands-on children's museum?
A swimming party at the YMCA.
Movie theater party if you have a nice place like MUVICO with a party room.
A place where you paint pottery- each child creates a work of art to take home.

Cemetery's can be fun. Lots of green grass to play on. And a great place for Hide & Seek and the residents don't mind the noise.
